Travel...

Immigrating to Australia... www.Adelaidebound.com  an exceptional website directed at Brits considering visiting or migrating to South Australia.  Built by an exp Brit who had to find information the hard way.  Everything from costing to official paperwork to climate, to shipping companies, to webcams in various locations and much much much more.

Text Box: From the editor…
Welcome to our tenth quarterly Choppers Australia Newsletter.  The first one was produced in October 2005 when we had just three members and a few more contacts.  It was a single folded A3 affair and printed in time for our first public outing… a stall at the Adelaide Xtreme Horsepower Show.
We now have over eighty members Australia-wide and distribute about 120 of each issue.  It is thanks to your enthusiasm for choppers and for sharing your love of them with others that this growth has been possible.
As you can see, this issue is different to the newsletters that have gone before.  It has a new name and a couple of colour pages.  This is the result of speaking to many of our members and asking for ideas on our website forums
Chops’n Bobbers was the most popular name and almost all I spoke to were keen on colour.  The two colour pages costs an extra 70c per newsletter and sending it to you unfolded is about an extra 30c.  This has been covered by raising annual membership from $25 to $35, something that also had pretty much universal support.
Choppers Australia financial members still receive a member news sheet.
It is now more of a Magazine style.  Some issues ago, a couple of members asked that each issue include technical articles.  This section is gradually growing and I aim to devote almost half of each magazine to technical articles.  I currently write most articles, but each time we have at least one from one of our members.
This issue’s guest article is from Greg Megson, giving some basics on paint.  Pommy chopper is considering doing an article on welding pitfalls for a future issue.  We also have the first of a regular movie review from Clay Mezzadri.
If you have areas of expertise or interest, please contact me so we can all gain from each other’s knowledge.  If your are better at building choppers than writing articles, no sweat, email or mail me your notes and we’ll work out the wording.
If you have any suggestions or comments on the newsletter, just email or call…
Keep on choppin’,
Prof
