think we ALL carry the basics,and once u know ur bikes temprament,varied neccessadies.
on a run,would share load between mates,so no one needs to carry the same items.

extended controls

great pics. they really help/inspire a beginner like me self.
the motor on the xs650 looks tops, and all ya did was sandblast for a clean?
those extended controls(brake+gear)are cool too. had a similar thought for me cb450.what gage steel was used?

thanks for the input. turns out on of the cleaners at the shopping centre i patrol is a fitter/turner by trade. guess what, after 3 words into the explanation, same suggestion. reckons super cheap auto + bunnings stocks them locally. let the fun begin.

now i've stuffed it. ive cross threded one of me plugs. plug is out,but thread on head stuffed. and i mean stuffed. would it be easier/cheaper to fit a new head,or have it rethreaded? has anyone used that thread repair goo,any good? is it best to remove head before attempting any fix it proceedure? ...

HEY ALL. MY HONDA HAS AIR SUSPENSION UP FRONT. BEING NEW TO THE BIKE OWNER WORLD, I'M NOT SURE WHAT PRESSURE TO RUN. ANY IDEAS? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF AIR SUSPENSION ON BIKES, IS IT COMMON? IS IT A GOOD SET UP, OR SHOULD I CONSIDER A CHANGE?

carby/fuel problems

no i haven't. i have this weekend off work and will pull carby off then to check. thankfully the previous owner also provided a manual with bike, so hopefully it will provide some info. will check the needle hieght saturday. thanks for ya input.

fuel/carby problem

my cb450 seems to have a fuel ploblem with the right hand carby. bike will start and idle, but right side very rough. have removed spark plug and tested compression, thats fine, but plug very black and strong fuel smell to it. have tried to set air/fuel mixture on carby, plus reset float level, but ...
