69 Bonneville extra oil return pipe mystery

Hi again. I have a real interesting problem/situation with my oil system and I'm hoping someone may have half an idea of what's going on. Here we go...... '69 Bonneville 650cc. The oil return pipe, rocker cover feed pipe and the engine oil feed pipe are all there and working fine. What I have is an ...

Re: Lithium Ferrous Phosphate Battery

Thanks for the reply Prof. What l have learnt is the Lithium Ferrous Phosphate and the Lithium Iron Phosphate are the same battery . Most manufacturers will refer to Iron over Ferrous and vica versa. My problem still is why would one person say not to use on a positive ground and yet the other perso...

Lithium Ferrous Phosphate Battery

Hi again one and all. I'm wondering if anyone knows the difference between a lithium ferrous phosphate and a lithium iron phosphate battery. I'm figuring they are the same thing. Ferrous being iron. I ask as for the last 1000km I've been using a Ballistic Evo 2 battery which is the lithium ferrous t...

Re: pics of the '69 project

Well here it is, 6 years, 1 month & 12 days from original purchase date and the bike is now officially finished & registered. I've still got about 300 km to go before the rings settled. I want to thank everyone so far for your positive input along the way. Hopefully I'll catch up with some of you fo...

Re: pics of the '69 project

Well the time has finally arrived. The bike is as good as done with the RWC booked in for early March. Just over 6 years to the day I originally purchased it from Deni Dave. http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd503/flexyourhead05/Finished11.jpg http://i1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd503/flexyourhead...

Re: early Honda wreckers

Very true Prof. I actually hesitated when I wrote it as even though it did add extra time etc onto everything, l did learn a fair bit along the way.
Cheers again.

Re: early Honda wreckers

The final update on this topic! I went to Howards Instruments to try and source the reverse drive angle adaptor. They gave me a web site in the UK to try. I found what I was after but a bit unsure with dimensions etc. I dropped them a line with all dimensions I had etc etc. To date still no reply. F...

Re: early Honda wreckers

I believe the wheel was flipped as the brake stay bar is attached at the front half of the hub. As a result some sort of bracket would have had to be attached forward of the centre axle and attach somewhere on the LHS rocker (springer forks). Cosmetically it would look atrocious. By flipping it over...

Re: early Honda wreckers

Update #2 Boy have the last few weeks been interesting regarding this front wheel and speedo. It is off a 70-72 Honda CB350. I found speedo worm drive gear on Ebay for a CL350only to be told by another person that the CL350 and the CB350 had two different internal hub sizes and it wouldn't fit. A we...

Re: early Honda wreckers

Update..... Had an email off Andrew at Puds. It does appear to be a CB 350 hub but unfortunately he can't help me with the part. l have also spoken with Paul at Eastern Motorcycle Wreckers who was of extreme help. He may have one, just got to give him my hub and a couple of days to search for one. l...

early Honda wreckers

Hi again. A new problem has emergef with my bike. I've been in the middle of hooking up a speedo cable to what I'm pretty sure is a'70-'72 Honda CB350 front wheel. Today I've found that the speedo worm drive gear is missing from the hub. Can anyone recommend a wreckers or some outlet that may be abl...

Re: mechanical oil pressure gauge

Thanks for the input. Oil filled it is.
Tigerbob, did the gauge you got from Trojan come with the ability to attach a bracket to it? I checked the one on line but I'd like to see or be told how you attach a bracket to it. The photos don't reveal enough for me. Any ideas based on yours?
Cheers
