Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

Yeah nice idea guys, that's definitely something worth considering. Thanks for taking the time to sketch that up Prof.

Re: 2021 Gawler Swap Meet

Great to see the Chopper back up and running again.

A note on tyre pressures, on our rigids we're running down around 16psi to try and soak up some of the bumps and irregularity in the roads.

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

Not much else to do during WA's weekend COVID lockdown, so I played cardboard mockups  I really want to do a Crazy Frank inspired rear fender (not a copy), but suited to a rigid with a solo seat, instead of the king/queen swing arm setup we're used to seeing. So out with the cardboard and I thi...

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

No not really. I ordered a taillight as well and express shipping, and the whole lot to my door was $250. So the fender alone if you're not in a hurry with freight would be less than $200. This is a 5" wide fender, but they also do a 6" wide as well: http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/tc-bros-b...

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

It's taken 6 months of scouring the Earth and the Internet, but we finally found a rear fender that will tightly hug the diameter of our 16" modern lower profile tyre. Plenty of places make fenders to hug the taller vintage style Avon and Firestone 16" tyres which are popular now, but not ...

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

With the gas tank now primered I think it looks pretty neat, and the hidden mount setup looks real clean!

I'm looking forward to moving onto the rear fender next.

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

I picked up the bike from Tom at Sideshow Cycle yesterday and brought it home, and I'm blown away by how well the gas tank has turned out. The shape is perfect, and how well it fits the frame and covers the cross tube is just amazing. So far at every step with this bike, things are working out and l...

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

Next up it's putting the tank all back together. Tom has fabricated a new deeper tunnel, and smaller base (the sides of the tank narrow in more and more the deeper you go). You can see the original hidden tank mounts and fuel bung scavenged from the old tank base. Then the tunnel/base are cut to acc...
