Reintroduction

Hi all I joined the forum back in 2012. I bought a 94 Virago (don't judge :D ) and wanted to build a bobber from it. I pulled it apart and then it got too hard and I put it all in boxes in the shed. Well I want to finish that project and start riding it. Thought I'd jump back into this community for...

Re: Rusty screws

Well after rounding another two screws its time to put the tools down and take some deep breaths before frustration turns to anger. Its going to be a lot longer than I expected before this thing is on the road. The old saying a fool and is money are soon parted is starting to ring in my ears.

Re: Rusty screws

Rusty screws

Now that I have your attention  well actually this post is about rusty screws. I am having a bit of an issue and have come to a bit of halt on my project because this thing has the most rusty nuts, bolts and screws I have ever seen. I assume it's because it spent a great deal of its life on the...

Re: Got my first bike.

Man it's weird how you don't think about something until someone else starts talking about it, I agree it does look quite big and sort of steers the eye towards it which does detract a little from the rest of the bike. A smaller headlight would give a bit more balance to the overall look. Got me thi...

Reluctant rebuild

Well it seems apparent that I bought a bit of a heap :D but of course that's what happens when you over enthusiastic and uninformed.....the good news it's well and truly repairable and will probably cost more elbow grease and late nights than money so it could have been much worse. So i have started...

Re: Got my first bike.

I'm in Brisbane. Mate I might have to take you up on that offer. I'll have to drive at the moment cause I haven't had time to get the rego sorted. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks or so I might.

Re: Question for the welders

They also have a cihweld mig for $275, would anyone be willing to give an opinion as to whether the extra $175 would be worth it to get a mig?

Re: Question for the welders

Awesome thanks mate, yeah I'll see what I can squeeze out of em. It coes with a hand held mask and chipping hammer but would prefer to not have to hold the mask while welding.

Question for the welders

Supercheap have a 140 amp Arc welder on sale for $99. As I have always wanted to learn to weld I thought this might be a good opportunity to get myself something to learn with. Would this be a suitable bit of kit to learn on? Would I be able to use this for some basic chopper projects as well? It st...
