Re: Melbourne

How does Tuesday night counter meal sound? I have a mate who owns a pub up in the hills only about 20 mins away, good tucker and cold beer. If that works for you I'll give you a ring on Tuesday to figure out where to meet. Cheers Mark

Re: Melbourne

G'day Nigel, are you dropping your bike off as soon as you get here or will you still have it for the weekend? If you want to catch up for dinner one night let me know. Either way I'll give you a ring over the weekend. I wouldn't worry about riding your bike around Melbourne, you'll have no problems...

Re: N S W MUSHTER 2013

Yeah, what Pygmy said! In particular to Donal,Anne and Steve thanks for a great weekend. Just as importantly though thanks to everybody who was there because weekends like this are made great by the people you spend them with. Paul and I rode over 1100kms each way to meet a bunch of people we had ne...

Re: MUSTER TIME 2013

G'day Steve, you've got it pretty right for me and my +1 (Paul) except we will be starting to head home after breakfast on Sunday so no dinner for us on Sunday or breakky on Monday. It's better for us cos we're further away so it's only 8 sleeps until we hit the road. :D Cheers Mark

Re: early Honda wreckers

You're right Pygmy, Andrew at Puds is the Honda guru and a very helpful bloke too. Also Grant, if ya have no luck with Puds try Eastern again over the next week or two 'cos Paul has a month or so off during winter and would be due back soon I think. Cheers Mark

Re: saltys sporty project

Hey Jon, if ya gunna buy some indicators check out olfarts stuff at independant parts. I got some neat little bullet indicators for about $40 a pair which have "e" marked lenses to get ya through the roadworthy. They're small enough and good enough to keep them on the bike permanently. Cheers Mark

Re: info needed

I think different manufacturers specify different things Prof, throttle open/closed, other plugs in/out (which will vary cranking speed), hot/cold etc but I don't think it makes a huge difference to the result. In Dale's case where the best cylinder is only two thirds of the desired psi, if it were ...

Re: info needed

Not real high kms so I reckon you're right, rings should do it. Probably worth pulling the head apart while it's off to check valves and replace valve stem seals which are only cheap cos it would be a shame to find it is a little smokey off the lights or backing' off down a hill when just a few extr...

Re: info needed

Any idea of engine history? Kms? If its high kms you've probably just confirmed its a bit tired. Did you google it to find out what Kawasaki say it should be? Whilst the variation is as much concern as anything, if they should all be 150psi then it's probably time for barrels to come off anyway. Did...

Re: info needed

If the engine has been drained but not flushed turning it over a few times for a compression test shouldn't hurt but if it has been rebuilt or re assembled and never had oil in it then definately put oil in it . Probably best to play it safe and put oil in it, depending on whether it is dry sump or ...
