96-03 sporty backbone width

Anybody know the width of a sporty backbone from 96-03? I'm looking at fitting a smaller chopper style tank to the softail. The shop is interstate and "can't get the. Measurement of the tank tunnel"

Re: My current builds

It's not as laid back as the softail but a much easier riding position for darting in and out of traffic.

The tank is off a kwaka 440ltd

Re: My current builds

Hey everyone, a long time between posts but a lot has been done. The rigid was finished late last year and now I'm onto the softail, currently rolling on 4"over tubes up front and lowered 2 down the back. I'm looking to trade my stretched tank for a king sporty tank or something around 3.5gal in siz...

Re: My current builds

Well the frame is all welded up, a couple of braces will be going in once the the new rear fender arrives. What have other people done for forward controls on cb750 given the girth of the motor haha.

Re: Hi everyone, south of adelaide

Scored an old king queen seat yesterday and with a tweaking it looks to a reasonable fit, it will be getting a full retrim in august. I also dropped the honda frame in for sandblasting so I can get on with things a bit, fingers crossed the hardtail will be welded on in the next few weeks tops. https...

Re: Hi everyone, south of adelaide

Hey guys, from what I can tell it's an amen rigid frame. He would have had it somewhere in the early 80's, not sure who he bought it off but it was quite rough and painted black with a diamond tank.

My current builds

Hi everyone, here are my 2 current builds. First up is my 01 fxst that my old man owned, he built a 103 stroker with big cams, ported heads and a mikuni flatslide to name a few bits. I've redone the bodywork in black with a copper and gold flake, reshaped the seat, tank lift, lowered 2 inches at the...

Hi everyone, south of adelaide

Hi I'm Lenny from s.a and I've been around bikes since day dot. My old man worked in a fair few bike shops around adelaide so I've always had bikes in my blood. I grew up around 750fours and random kwakas. I ride an 01 softail that myself and old man rebuilt before he died, I also ride his cb750 tha...
