Looks great Bacca. Love blue bikes. Thinking dark blue for frame and silver parts and accessories. Not much chrome. Cheaper to paint than plate.

Have fun on the road.

CX comes with twin disc set up, but is lousy in the braking department. May look at removal and update to later model discs/mstr cyl.

Thanks for interest, Guys. As this is my first attempt at a "chop", I,m not sure exactly what style to call it. The XR250 fork tubes are too wide to fit in the CX trees, so I got a whole front cut from the wreckers. This included the triple trees and about 150mm of head stem. this will be grafted on...

BearCX 500 Chopper build-up.

Managed to gather a few pieces over the last few weeks. Tried a quick mock up on the CX (before any cutting gets underway!). Got a complete front cut from a Honda XR250 (forks 1000mm long/CX 700mm long). Got hold of a CX Custom fuel tank(thnx Glen). $20 for a chrome mudguard, new brake light assy, s...

In South Oz we have a few bearing suppliers, such as CBC (consolidated bearing suppliers), SKF bearings and the like. They can get just about anything. A good engineering company should be able to make rings for you.
Sorry, not much help I know.

I'm thinking of maybe putting a 150-200m tyre in there. Maybe a two piece taishaft ( like a commodore ) with centre bearing....

Has anyone widened a shaft drive rear end?

G'day, this is my first post, so be gentle. I am about to start my first project chop. No laughing...CX500 V-twin shaftie. Seriously...stop laughing. I am a fitter by trade and will attempt to build bike by myself, but if any one has widened a shaftie, would like to hear from you. Long live the flyi...
