I have been using 91 and 95 octane fuel for the last few weeks and as far as I can tell the difference between 91, 95 and 98 octane fuel on my bike is so minimal it really makes no difference. The 98 octane fuel makes the bike idle a tiny bit rougher (which I don't mind, it actually sounds better) b...

Dave check your owners manual for the recommended octane rating for your bike. Mine says to use 91 octane and the dealer still told me to use Premium fuel.

I am using premium in my new bike, was recommended by the dealer
Dave
Yea was told the same thing by the dealer, thats way I used Premium until I read in a magazine that its a waste of money, that it does not improve performance and it could make the bike idle rougher and harder to start

Thanks for the comments, keep 'em coming. Just filled the bike up with standard unleaded (91 octane) for the first time, will find out over the next week if there is any difference. Interesting comment about using 95 octane fuel might have to try that next time.

Which Fuel to use?

Ever since I got my bike I been using premium unleaded fuel. I was told to use it because it was a cleaner fuel, it would keep everything cleaner like carbie, jets etc and the added cost of the premium fuel compared to the standard unleaded would be off-set by the extra mileage I would get using the...

If it looks like a Chopper it is a Chopper. I think some of you guys are getting a bit to technical with words, I don't think that you have to chop and modify the frame to have a Chopper. I mean you could Chop and Modify the frame and still not look like a Chopper so I think its more about the visua...
