Adelaide Bike Night Feb 2020...

I was talking to a customer late Saturday afternoon and he mentioned he had to head off to get to a bike night at Mile End in Adelaide at 7pm. I'd been to one last year and despite being bushed, considered the possibility of heading down there. Thought I'd call Jason and see if he wanted to join me....

The Oz Ride Aug 2021...

I've been talking about an around Oz trip on the chopper for a few years now. The time has come to bite the bullet! I'm aiming to head off from Adelaide to Perth, Darwin, Townsville and down the east coast etc beginning of August (timing a bit flexible) next year. Proposing this time as winter is be...

Re: building a frame for a Twin Cam A...

Lower frame tubes right side... The lower frame tubes start at the steering head sweep under the motor on both sides turn up behind the clutch/gearbox and when they get close to the shocker top mount curve around to line up with the top of the rear guard. Each side needs to be identical. The bottom...

Re: building a frame for a Twin Cam A...

Now ready to build the frame. Just one pic missed off last post. To locate top shocker mount we cut and drill a piece of 20 square tube with full length and collapsed length of rear shocker... http://www.choppersaustralia.com/PictureLibrary7/CAFDiggensTwinCam-25a.jpg Tubing... Discussions with the e...

Re: Twin Cam needs new frame

Finally have a fast computer and access to all my picture files. I've been able to begin catching up on work as a result of a variety of family and other set backs, so at last we can show you Garry's build. Quite a few hours went into researching frames. We found two possibilities claiming to suit t...

Re: Long term Triumph Chopper project

Have you considered shortening the bottom link for regio and then putting correct length back to allow you some extra rake. You definitely want to get as much trail as you can... at least 5" .

Re: Feb 2020 Goolwa Ride... well, a bit of it!

Internal tubing from gas hot water services. I picked up a few lengths of faulty tube from the manufacturer's seconds outlet years back. Knock some of the harshness off but the pipes are still loud... which is the way I like it.

Friday night spin with Jason (Feb20)...

It's been an unrelenting week trying catch up on two choppers under construction in the workshop, workman away for the third week, ferrying and or attending to two sick women in the household, having to jump this way and that at a moments notice, cooking, shopping etc. So tonight at 5pm despite my t...

Feb 2020 Goolwa Ride... well, a bit of it!

I decided to take a couple of hours off this morning to join in on a CA ride to Milanf. Told Kevin I would only come to Goolwa as I had a customer coming at 2pm. Jason rocked up to the workshop half hour early as I was expecting the others to come by and check out a couple of projects that are looki...

Not the best start to new year!

Had a pretty solid day New Years Eve. Fairly done in by the time tea was over and cleanup done, so sat down to make a few calls. Jason was on his way home from work and we both decided on the spur of the moment that a short ride would freshen us up. Quickly kitted up and was soon enjoying that lovel...

Trad choppers seen on the Gold Coast...

My son Paul who is currently on the Gold Coast, saw these trad choppers roll past and followed them to a servo where he had a chat and got photos. Encouraging that they appeared to be all in their 20's - 30's... great news for the future of trad choppers. They say they are not hassled at all by The ...

Christmas 2019 at TCS...

Christmas at The Chopper Shed was a fairly quiet affair this year, but we still had a pretty good time... I've been working on a couple of bikes including this twin cam which is being engineered as an ICV (individually constructed vehicle required to adhere to all current regs). Took about three day...
