Re: My new (secondhand) bike

Is the screen a Memphis Shades job, Nigel? Looks like it. The bikini fairing on the Pony is a Memphis Shades bullet fairing, and their no tool mounts are nice ( be even nicer when I've managed to pack out the fork clamps so they don't move, fairing was a Harley fitting to fit the Harley headlight, m...

3 degree offset headstem bearings for Yamaha?

These are obviously commonly available for Harleys, does anyone know whether they're available for the Yamaha front ends (specifically '85 XV1000)? I've been looking through the advice about not going past 40 degrees on a telescopic fork due to stiction, and the stock front end on the XV1000 is 32 d...

Re: Old Dirt bikes as basis for projects

I think the first steps will be to get it running and possibly regoed, Hopefully alterations done after that won 't be scrutinised as closely in the annual pink slip checks?

Re: Speedo MPH or KPH

Jac, I don't have the gauge here at the moment, but it's 60-65mm diameter, only 1 of the gauge holders showed a diameter that I could see, and that was 48mm, about 1/2" too small. What I got to mount the gauges was these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/220680027470?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984....

Re: 2012 NSW Annual Mushter

Would it make things easier if those of us who aren't organising sent money through around now? If there's a rough idea of what it'll be per person for the expected number, we could pony that up to help get things set up, adjustments one way or the other can always be made when there's more detail. ...

Old Dirt bikes as basis for projects

OK, this is probably a stupid question, but they're the ones that usually help some of us learn. Been thinking about what I'd like to try to get started, and something small and tidy is what floats my boat, (and preferably single, all my bikes have been singles or V twins, current ones being an XV10...
