Personally i think that raked yokes (Not triple trees) are not a good idea. And i'd want to know where they're made????????? You need to be happy that the extra leverage the longer forks will put on your headstock is not excessive otherwise you'll need to weld the thing back on once it snaps!!!! I w...

Nice bike mate......we saw it at the Farmyard (the 2nd from last rally we did in UK before clearing off to Queensland)!!!! Proper British headcase engineering!!! Kep it up mate, i'm gonna try to convert the Queensland mentality that every bike on the road has to be a Harley!!!!!! Got lot's of plans,...

Don't cut that out Cromag, it'll break mate. Can you not put the caliper between the sissy bar and the seat top tube??? taking out that much material will weaken one of the most important pat of the frame. Also the twisting forces you'll add to that weak part of the frame will speed up any cracking....

Triumph is different but why advertise WCC????
Did they build it?? And even if they did, why have that on your tank???

I thought it was just the pommy weekend warriors on their bling harleys that did crap like that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bizarre.

Nice pics anyway.

I'd see if you can level the motor mate, otherwise you may have some botom end lubrication problems owing to the angle the motor seems to be sitting at!

Don't worry chap's i will certainly be bringing my "chop anything" mentality with me to Oz. (When the idiot who's buying our house pulls out his finger and pay's up)!!!!! First project will prob be a Bonnie or an XS650 hardtail. Then another Z650 hardtail for the wife (so i can have my old chop back...

Re: AWOL

A mate picked up four at a garage sale the other day and gave them to club. No doubt about you Brits. You chop anything and aren't too worried about chrome or fashion. Absolutely right Andrew, my claim to fame locally is i'm the bloke that has Triked a 1 year old VN1500 that was in mint condition a...

My suggestion would be, tack the tank with a mig then take it to somone to TIG weld it (or TIG it yourself).
MIG is porous and especially on thin sheet where you have to Spot it, you'll end up chasing holes.

I've just Bastardised a coffin tank, will post some pics soon!!

Cheers all.

Nice looking Simon, but as Andrew has already said, you need to look at bracing the frame to the headstock.

Have a look at www.tonyfoale.com or http://www.thefont.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/bikes/index.htm

Clever blokes and good advice.

Cheers.

Fire extinguishers are a good option too.
Some of the water ones have a plastic lining but that can be scraped out.
Similar to Choppaweeza's idea.
