Keep the frame as original and hope it's been rego'd before and you'll be right, old bikes don't have too many dramas with transport.

I'll give you a clue, there's a Pommy on here, he builds Choppers, he also makes Hardtails for Triumphs and XS650's, he has some Rigid XS650 frames in stock, XS numbers on and everything!!

Spend you money in Aus, the Yanks don't need Aus $$$ too, they've got enough.

Use as many triumph or "old" parts as possible and you won't need to get it engineered. In QLD we don't need to get the hardtail engineered as it was a factory option, also there's no compliance codes for frame mods, so we only need "permission to modify" from QLD Trans. So long as it don't have sil...

You'll need to make some kind of welding fixture, if the bloke who's gonna weld it knows what he's doing the making of a fixture will be a piece of urine!
