Re: Almost ready for the road..

My understanding on the solo/two seat is the same as yours, if there is a pillion seat there also must be pillion pegs and a chain guard. I'm not exactly sure how the pegs will mount or where so for the time being the back half of the seat will stay off. Lowering the headlight is something I hadn't ...

Re: Almost ready for the road..

Hi Prof. Your'e right there is no previous rego history at all, or at least not paper evidence of it. It is a '71 engine so should be able to get it inspected as being pre ADR's. As you say country inspection stations can be a little loose on the details when checking things. Unfortunatley this bike...

Almost ready for the road..

Hi all. Recently I took the plunge and bought a bike sight un-seen except for photos and video. The bike showed up here in the back of a furniture van (an ideal way to transport it) a couple of weeks later and was excatly what I expected and was as described. Since then I've started to get it ready ...

Re: Extended cables.

Thanks Prof. I did wonder the need for the return cable, the carb springs seem well enough to return to idle. Being able to get rid of one cable would be a good step toward de-cluttering the front of the bike. I'll take your advise and see what cables I can get locally and make my own, failing that ...

Extended cables.

Who has got, or knows where to get a set of 10' extended cables? There are some advertised on Ebay in the US but hoping to get some locally.
I've fitted a set of 12" bars onto my 750 Honda so need a clutch cable as well as the push and pull cables for the throttle.

Cheers.

Re: Honda Chopper CB750 K1

Interested in the 8" over fork tubes and the frame & springer. Are you interested in putting a price on all of the bits here before you send them to ebay?

Cheers.
Dave.

Re: Naracoorte Swap meet.

Well Naracoorte swap was a good time, as usual. Went up on Friday evening in the ute with a project car on a trailer for sale plus a few other odds and ends from the shed(anybody want an XP Falcon delivery??). Camped the night there with my son, early start Saturday morning to set up our sites and w...

Re: Wanted 750/ 4 rigid Chopper

That's interesting, Correct me if I'm wrong but that bike has been advertised for sale at least 3 times in the last 8 or 9 months! It was at about 6 grand first, the ad disappeared pretty quick at that price but then popped up a few weeks later at 11. I rang about it in October last year and was tol...

Welly's Poker Run.

I know it's short notice but if you're looking for a good run this weekend you could do a lot worse than this one. Things start from the Naracoorte showgrounds, same place as the swap meet, the poker run will do a loop around the region then end up back at the showgrounds. Full catering and bands in...

Re: On the road again. The bike and me!

The plugs are new but I havn't pulled them out for a look. So may be worth a look. Did a run into town and back today, bike started first kick from cold without any choke, ran good to begin with but as it came up to full running temp it seemed to run rough. Won't idle properly and blowing black smok...

Re: On the road again. The bike and me!

There was certainly a couple of those issues to begin with. The tank has been flushed out and the fuel tap pulled to bits and cleaned, yes the screen was blocked. The previous owner had the carbs checked out before I bought the bike. It had been parked for 7 years so they were all blocked and stuck,...

Re: On the road again. The bike and me!

Cheers for the tips Prof. That's something I wouldn't have thought of about the seat and backrest. The seat is something I might have a play with tonight, after having another look at the fuel system. It's not blocking up anymore but still not entirely happy either. At least the bike starts first ki...
