Mini Bike!! not Chopper, But Cool.. JCC Custom

Post by SimonJ18 » Sun Apr 30, 2006 7:30 pm

I know this isnt a Mini Chopper but the running gear is the same, just a detailed look into these popular new bikes.

This particular Bike is owned by my mate Brad, a regular Customer to JCC, Brad and his family have been heavily into riding Bmx, Trials and down hill mountain biking since he was 3years old. I have been painting his family's bikes for a few years now.

Below is Brad's new hobby, but not only is brad newly into mini bikes, his whole family is too, even his mum rides a mini dirt bike round their mt torrens property. Brad has some decent plans for this bike, I have sourced brad a Turbo for some forced induction, a 10v CDI unit (upgrade from 6v) and we are going for a new paint job and plastics. I have also started fabrication on a new fatter high flowed exhaust system and a new induction tube to reposition the carb for better turbo fitment. I will keep you updated with pics as i go. Those on the run next sunday (7th may) will be able to view brad's bike here at JCC.

Brad's next Project is a Mini Chopper, he is saving to purchase a bike like the ones below and give it a JCC custom paint job and some Fabrication mods. Brad's engine of choice will be a Mini 250cc V-Twin replica engine with a 6 speed box! That engine combo will haul bum in a light weight frame like that!!

Below is the style of bike Brad has ordered to be the base of his project, he plans to remove the plastic and replace it with steel. Note the 200cc motor and Hydraulic Forwards.. cool!

Turbo'd Mini Bike!!!!!

Post by SimonJ18 » Sat May 20, 2006 7:12 pm

As stated in the post above I have been busy working on my friend Brad's Mini bike, This conversion is 90% done, the bike has been ridden and absolutely blasts!!! Although i have tested the turbo on a regulated power supply and it spools a bit quicker than being run off of the bikes magneto charging system. I have ordered a race CDI unit which gives the bike a more agressive ignition timing and fire, and most importantly bumps the regulated voltage from 6V to 10V suppling the coil much needed power the turbo has robbed, (turbo is electric driven not exhaust). Along with a fatter high flowed exhaust (on the way), more fuel tuned in through the bigger 25mm Mikuni carb, this is gonna be one fast 50cc bike!

The turbo is in spool when the motor is running but there is a "high boost" button mounted on the left bar grip (Pictured below) that can be pushed to fully spool the turbo, fortunately the button needs to be held down to have the shot delivered, Brad being a bit crazy wants me to install a "click on/click off" switch so full boost can be kept on :? Hmmm.....

Here's the pics, I know this isnt directly Chopper related but i thought you guys or some kids using the forum might be interested.

Yes, that rubber feeding boost from the turbo is a Honda SOHC carb to head rubber intake tube.

Bike all fitted up, complete with new Black plastics and green seat, white skulls are to be airbrushed on plastics in the near future.

Turbo was mounted on it's side to give the drivers leg more clearance for the shift pedal.

Note Boost switch in reach of left hand grip.

Jeez... Who's that ugly bloke? All finished, time for a coldie, especially with lips like those (looks like i am drinking from an invisible stubby  )
