Steve Brooks no longer with us

Post by Prof » Sat May 16, 2015 11:59 pm

Steve died this evening at 9.30pm. He has been fighting lung cancer for a year or so and spent the last week in Daw House Hospice, Adelaide.

Steve (Kevin's brother) has been riding with the SA Choppers Australia guys for about eight years. He rarely missed a ride, be it local or interstate. He also spent 3 or 4 days per week at The Chopper Shed, helping out with bits and pieces and was also a big help with various building projects on our property.

He was a Vietnam vet. I will remember him as an honest, quiet and a good friend always willing to lend a hand without any fuss.

I'll let you know funeral details when I get them. If the weather is good, I would like to have at least a couple of other guys joining me on their bikes.

Sad news, Andrew. Reckon he was on every ride I ever went on. Please pass on my condolences to Kev and Steve's family.
Will try and make the funeral if possible.

Bear.

Steve's funeral will be at 1pm this Friday 23rd at Alfred James, South Road, Morphett Vale.

When coming from Adelaide, Alfred James in on the left hand side of South Road about 200M before the O'Sullivan's Road intersection.

At this stage the weather forecast is 'mostly sunny' so hope to see a few bikes there.

We had nine bikes and 10 CA guys and two CA gals at Steve's funeral. All went very well and our noisy presence was much appreciated.

See a report of the funeral and brief ride afterwards here...
