s'pose I should introduce myself.

Don't have anything I'd call a chopper at the moment, '85 xv1000 has been slightly modified by myself and previous owners, removing a lot of clutter and useless crap, adding a simpler/lighter banana seat, forward controls, drag bars, drag pipes, smaller hi-flow air filter etc, also got a quick release bikini fairing to get a bit of the wind off when out on the road (and especially in winter as I'm a wimp like that ;^)

Quite a few things on the bike had to be removed/changed to get it registered, now I'm working back towards to the point I want, longer, lower and cleaner than it is, but able to be ridden and perform properly.

Don't seem to be able to attach pics, but it isn't anything special when compared to some of the rigs built and shown here.

As it's my first cruiser style low bike, still getting used to some of the differences like lack of cornering clearance, ground a bit off the bottom of the left peg when it kicked up halfway through a corner last week, but that's what they're for, aren't they, to tell you not to go any deeper into the corner?

Anyway, that's it for me.

To post pics ... and we all love pics you need to use somthing like Photobucket as an image hosting, and then post the link.

G,day...good ol engine the xv - wouldnt mind having a go at one meself.

Mate of mine dropped by yesterday on his TR1...it hasnt been on the road for 10yrs, so it was great to see him riding again and he got a lot of tuning work done to it so now it really hammers.

Last image was as I bought it about 10 months ago, looked good but a lot of the changes were just wrong, like lowering it so much that the underside of the rear guard was rubbed back to bare metal as it was rubbing any time it was ridden?

Yeah, I'm going to try and make the Mushter (actually, I was born up the Hunter Valley, Werris Creek, only been back once since I was a toddler, maybe it's time to go home ;^)

Welcome Neale.

Nice mods so far, like the orange/black colour scheme.

Thanks Wolfsbane ;^)

I thought I'd try a shortcut with another site that I had pics hosted on, shortcuts added the usual extra problems, time to stop bein' lazy I s'pose ;^)

Pipes and other shiny bits need to come off to be coated (ceramic for the pipes, powder for the rest) in black, paint would have looked good at first but it gets knocked about pretty fast, I've only just got it to thew point where it will run about right, got a few more plans underway at the moment, once she's closer to what I want I'll pull the bits off and get a more permanent job done, probably need to get the tank and rear guard repainted at the same time if I've got the tank, taillight etc changes done by then.
