It's looking like just you and me going from VIC Fluffer. Sad with all the advanced notice on this one. But look forward to meeting up with all you NSW guys.

I'll get on to the swag issue asap. Geez they look big even rolled up. Sadly, I don't expect to sort out a bigger bike before the ride.

Swag size is why I use a small tent and sleeping bag with a blow up matress. Reckon the matress is more comfortable than my bed at home!

An alternative to the tent is a piece of light canvas big enough to stretch from handlebars to sissy bar and then you just need a few pegs to put it inot the ground like a lean to. You can get a big enough piece to go right over the bike to the ground to cut out wind, but need reasonalby thin canvas or it will be too big a roll. You could also buy an old large tent at a garage sale of Cash Converters and cut out a piece of tenting material which would pack up much smaller.

Advantage of a tent is that it is mosquito proof and wind proof.

Just a few thoughts for you anyway.

Prof's right, a tent, matress and sleeping bag is actually easier to pack on a bike, my swag is wide but so are my bars so I usually tie it across em. Sort out how ya can pack the bike before ya decide to get a swag. If ya need a tent for the weekend i can help you out no probs.

Well I will put a sleeping bag behind me, as that makes the ride better anyway. I have a back rack for the bike, but have not figured out how to put it on. A single man tent would be good. Is that what you have? Of course a single blow up mattress is a must. The ground is so much harder than it used to be. So would like to change out my bars for some with a bit more height and pull back. There is a set on Ebay I've been looking at. They look good.

And there I was thinking I'd got softer with old age.
Tent I got, when time gets closer we'll get together for a planning session with other Vic members who are goin up (hint, hint)
Beer and pizza round an open fire at my place sounds about right ya can grab the tent.

I use one of thos self inflating matteresses, its 3/4 length and rolls up to something the size of a tent. plus a 2 man tent which was alright for me and the boy...but is getting a bit squeezy with the two of us now......

Are NSW blokes riding down in a group? and if so, where is best staging point to launch from?

Arrange a time and bring a hard drive - do both at once.

Yep, Been away for a while.

All sorts of individual plans seem to be the go this time
But apart from those with their own plans the idea seems to be emerging to leave the Newcastle area early Friday
and head down around Sydney then to the coast at Wollongong.
Then south to Bawley Point where my brother in law (Tim) has a holiday house we can all stay at.
It's a good bit of a ride in a day but gets us an easy run on Saturday morning to Bombala and a good place to stay for free.
Tim is coming with us and knows the roads around there etc.
No particular plans yet for the return journey although the house would be available then too.

Staging points.
Freemans Waterholes servo (East side one) 8AM Friday
First Servo on Pennant Hills Rd from the F3
Side of the road where M7 meets M5 and Hume Hwy
Mittagong Golf Club
Nowra, Park just across the river.
Bawley Point
Bombala

Here's the map

Or we could use this route via the Gong if anyone is joining in there.
More interesting but slower

For more info or times to meet at any of the points on the day give me a phone or SMS on 0419 501285
CYA there !
It's not about the Bling /:~)>
Well maybe a bit !
