Kevin's RIP Tank...

Post by Prof » Tue Sep 17, 2013 10:57 pm

Kevin has been talking about a Sportster tank in which to place his ashes when he goes on the big bike ride in the sky.

Recently he came across a white metal flaked fibre glass sporty tank from the 70's and decided it was just what he wanted...

He spent quite a bit of time in The Chopper Shed making a stand. We fossicked around and found a chrome evo derby cover which he had stripped. He then spent hours polishing it in the workshop. Mounted directly onto the derby is an HD chrome riser also stripped and then copper coated... and finally a piece of polished stainless bar.

Paint job by Nightmare designs cost a small fortune, but Kev reckons it was worth every penny...

Definitely a case of being prepared, but will his kids will keep it on their mantle?

Plenty more years ahead for you, young Kevin.......

Beautiful paint job. Great work.

I know a guy at work who rides a Hayabusa, had a small tank made under his pilion seat for his wife who passed away, so they could still ride together.

Hi Kevin,
I see you finally got your urn made. Tank looks amazing, hope you can enjoy it for a very long time yet before you move in.
