If you're in Sydney, then Throttle Roll is worth a look this coming weekend (Saturday & Sunday, May 10 & 11). Although put on by the Sydney Cafe Racers, there were a few nice choppers parked in the streets as well as plenty of desirable bikes in the streets and on display last year. There's a ride followed by bands and a bike display and it's all free (you do pay for drinks & food though)!
OK, you asked for it so here's 90+ photos from Throttle Roll. There's a few pics with you in mind Bear - see if you can spot them!
Event pre-ride from Tempe to Stanwell Tops. I only took pics at the starting point of the ride as I had some chores to attend to. It was lucky I didn't go as I ended up snapping my throttle cable before I got home. Luckily, I have a Mikuni on the Harley so I just used the idle adjust cable to get me home. I tried in vain the get new cables that morning but there were apparently none to be had in Sydney.
And from the event itself - or streets surrounding the event to be precise...
A CL 450 with original style competition exhaust and TLS front brake (as opposed to the SLS brakes used on CBs)
A guy I knew in high school wanted a CB250N but his mum would only buy him the 125 so he ended up with one the same colour as the one below (imagine having a mum that would actually buy you a motorbike!!!). One day, he rode it up to the Callington motorcross track where I and a couple of mates were for the weekend. While he was taking another mate's YZ for a spin, another mate and I decided to take the CB125 for a test ride on the track - 2 up! Needless to say, we only did one lap...
I haven't seen a CB125N for years so imagine my surprise when I saw another one just around the corner.
I've seen the pan chopper below on the streets around Sydney before.
Prof, I remember you said you liked the flashing spark plug wires on the FXR in Harley Davidson and the Marlboro Man. This Victory had flashing LEDs that seemed to pulse in a similar way. All I saw were pulses of light - it wasn't until I saw the photo that I realised they were LEDs.
This guy 'bagged it up' just as I stopped shooting. You can see he's in the process of 'clutching it'. Missed it by about 0.5 seconds...
Looking for a park...
This young girl waited patiently while that Woolies truck passed by within inches so she could back into the park.
How to transport that springer front end you just picked up:
Inside the show...
I didn't get many photos inside the show as it was too crowded when I was there. I went back in a couple of times but just couldn't get clear shots of the bikes.
Love the styling of this late 60s early 70s drag bike. This was by the entrance so getting a square on shot was impossible.
Just some of the bikes on display and one of the bands.
This is as far as I got in the actual show itself. I was probably just over half way to the stage.

That was awesome.!!! Thanks for putting up all those photos, Tigerbob. Some wicked old school stuff as well as some beautifully restored bikes. Love the toffee red Z900 with the gold rims.
......and of course, The Mighty CX Honda 500's.
Cheers.
The brave may not live long, but, the cautious do not live at all.
Mackum sent through a pile of pics of the show. Lot of double ups on tiger Bob's but easier to just set them up here as supplied except for resizing. thanks Mackum...
