Distinguished Gentleman's Ride 2014 - Sydney

Post by tigerbob » Sat Oct 04, 2014 1:16 pm

Last Sunday (28 September) was the 3rd annual Distinguished Gentleman's Ride. It is primarily an event for cafe racers, bobbers, brat bikes and customs. Cruisers, sports bikes and modern scooters are not encouraged. That being the case, I decided to drive a backup vehicle since I only have a cruiser (94 FXDS).

There were over 500 bikes registered for the event of all types. I took almost as many photos but my camera is playing up so not too many were useable. Here's just a small sample...

This is at the end of the event. A young lady trying to start her 650 chop. The event organiser is the bloke in the left of the pic with the blue jacket.

Success! It took quite a few kicks and she was getting tired...

A typical outfit

This guy supplied the back up vehicle that I drove.

This is the car I drove - a HQ one tonner with a 304. The bike was the first pick-up. An XS with a broken clutch cable...

Early arrivals.

The green Dodge with original sign writing was another back up vehicle. He picked at least 3 bikes. The XL Falcon was another break down vehicle. He picked up a Hinkley Bonnie with a flat tyre being ridden by 2 european women.

Even dogs took part in the event. This one didn't enjoy it too much...

It even had a go at Red Foo who did the ride along with Ronan Keating. This photo is a frame from a poor video.

This dog enjoyed it much more!

Obviously a fan of Family Guy...

Tail End Charlie. The guy on the Yammy signifies the end of the ride.

This mildly modified FLH was for sale for $20k. I reckon it was good value. Oil in frame Harley.

Pneumatic seat. The owner had accidentaly overfilled the oil tank hence the visible oil.

Thanks for posting, all those great pics. Even saw a CX hiding in one photo.
Would be good to participate, once I get back on 2 wheels, again.
