I suggest you clean your points up with a piece of emery paper or a points file.. throw a set of new plugs in it, check your carb settings, needles etc... Just remember a engine needs three things to fire.. 1) "Fuel" (Air/fuel) Carbs 2) "Spark" (Plugs, coils, points) 3) "compression" (engine bore). The engine should be fine itself so concentrate on the other areas, Ultimately a new carb rebuild kit would be best but it all depends if you have the money, time or know how to do it... Could have a leak, blocked jet etc... try some carb n choke cleaner. Best of luck mate.... let us know how you get along.

Mine has clamps like radiator clamps. When I got mine going again one side wasent tightened up propably and one carb came out.
Tightened propably now so no more problems. Bacca

Sounds like the excitement is building Dale. You'll be hard to keep off the bike when you get it on the road and runing right.

timing

Post by david 101 » Tue Oct 31, 2006 10:38 am

here we go hope you can follow me.
for Contact point ignition, there sould be some letters stamped into case
A = Topdead centre
B1 & B2 =Ignition fire marks
C = mark for fully advanced timing. I usualy set the mark on B1& B2 so that the contactpoints open there. once running work from there
Hope that is of some help
