Battery Size Question

It's time to get myself a new battery.
What I'm wondering is can I use a smaller sealed battery like ones found in security panels and fire panels? The ones I use in the fire industry are 12v7Ah and bigger. I'm thinking as I have no electric start on the bike and all I'm really running is the brake light, headlight, horn and coils/ignition side of things. I can't see any reason why the batteries we use in the fire industry aren't suitable.
Is there something I'm missing here?
If I was running the electric start, fair enough but as I'm not, I'm thinking they'd be fine.
Any input is appreciated.

Phil (xschop) should be able to answer this one. Send him a pm. 7ah would be fine with out electric start. The question I would have is whether they are ok being charged by a bike alternator at 14-15 volts.

It shouldn't be a big issue. We run 2 x 12 in series on the fire panels. Their charge voltage is around 27.5 volts as a norm.
Am I correct in assuming the only reason to have a heavier duty battery would be because of the current draw with an electric start?

Hans (Waterbottle) ran 2 dry cells out of emergency light systems we had, on his CX500. Ran fine for a year, electric start.
Soldered a joiner between the two.

There is the possibility of running a capacitor and no battery also.
