Articles abuot E10 fuel

Post by neale » Thu May 23, 2013 1:43 am

One of the guys on the Viagra forum put up these links in a discussion about issues with the OEM carbs.

The stats and focus are American, of course, but I dare say that there's enough truth in them to make them well worth reading, some of the content at least matches what I've read elsewhere.

It's a good bet that the effects will be more pronounced on the earlier engines that weren't designed to deal with the current fuels, eg when I got my VW Type 4 engine rebuilt they put different valves etc in to reduce the impact of the increased wear etc from the unleaded fuel, as engines produced prior to 1985 weren't designed fo it as far as I know.

FWIW
