I thought they only made these for harleys and trumpys very interesting to see one on a honda

I've got a Mercury 4 cylinder mag that would work on a Honda.

it has a nice little drive spline there....just needs to marry up to something.......i wonder if it'd have to turn at 2:1 or 1:1 would be ok? would it be a wasted spark or a bang on the wrong stroke, (insert joke here).

Robbie from Fumesngears blog told me that unless it's geared down internally (dunno if it is), it needs to run a half the crank speed.

turn shaft & see if rotor at other end turns at half the speed - 1/2 rotation to 1 rotation at other end.
