Moree accomodation

Post by XSChop » Mon Sep 21, 2009 2:01 pm

Just spoke with Dianne at the Mehi caravan park in Moree
She tells me at this point she has NO bookings for the night of 10th.
However the list shows 11 members due to arrive there on that day.
The info page clearly states
"Participants need to call and book individually for either a campsite or a place in one of the cabins."
but it seems no one has acutally done it.

In light of this, so that we don't arrive there with nowhere to stay, I think we should book two cabins (10 people) right now as she says if we leave it any later we may not get them.
If necessary I will book them in my name and carry the cost if no one turns up but it really does sort of start me worrying if this is really going to happen.
I wonder where the 10 members from QLD expect to stay if they haven't booked ?
I know there is a strong anti organisation element and if that is the consensus I won't book anything or arrange the evening meal as I have done.
Please let me know whether to book 2 cabins or leave it up to luck.

The only one who is anti organisational is some one who isn't even going on the run so pay no heed to his rantings. In fact when he does post something in the mega ride section just skip over it completely.

If you want to book both cabins I will pay for one also and who ever bunks in with me can fix me up or I will have the whole thing to myself (I am easy either way).
Good on you for being pro-active.

Phil, I have booked a "Sole Use" Cabin (with linen) in my name, with Dianne.

We Old Farts like a bit of privacy, especially after 450 hard kms on the road!!!??? Who wants to hear me snore?? :D :D :D

If worse comes to worse, numbers blow out with no other cabins available, and as a last resort, someone can bunk in, provided I get the double bed (alone!!)

Shaun, the list at Who's going on the Mega ride?? shows who is on the QLD to Moree leg. There are 11 at present but if you know of others leaving us there you can edit that post to show them.

Tex said he had booked a cabin for himself but Dianne said today she had only one booking for that night and it was someone with a name starting with J so that would be the JJ booking also mentioned. Don't know about Tex ???

Anyhow I think I'll book two cabins tomorrow and with JJs that should be near enough.
Derek (Reaper) will be the debt collector for them as I won't be joining till Dubbo.

Hi Reaper,
Well I booked two cabins today with some lady but will ring and confirm with Dianne (who is the only one who seems to know what's going on) tomorrow and give her your mobile number.
The man who answers the phone there doesn't seem to know what's going on.
So all you need to do is collect the cash off the stayers and pay her.
Then I'll see you at Dubbo !!!
