Wrecking out an 82 Shovel

Post by chopaweeza » Sat Jan 07, 2012 5:52 pm

After a stack of non-starters its time to part it out .

It's an 82' FXR . 5 speed transmission and the engine is an 80 inch Shovelhead

The 5 speeds like this are a common upgrade with older Shovels as people use the 5 speed gears & shafts to the older 4 speed cases to upgrade these . It's only $800

The frame is a rubber mounted type and it includes the swingarm . It is a genuine 1982 , comes with a US Title and an Australian Import Approval allowing the bike to be rebuilt as an 82' in most states . It's only $1700 with paperwork

The engine is a good 80" Shovelhead and one of the better one's I've seen for some time . Has a long service history until parked 3 years ago and had the same owner from 1988 until I bought it last year . Can't say what it's like inside but it has good compression and it turns over . Want around the $2700 mark and can do a deal on the extra's you may need

Front end is a 35mm Narrowglide type . As used on Sportsters and Superglides in the 70's and into the 80's . It has twin disc brakes that work , 19" front wheel , forks , fender , triple trees , T bars , headlight , switchgear and gauges . Bolt straight up to many HD models with a 1" stem . Only $990 for all that but will sell off are parts

Rear wheel may be tired and tatty but it's a genuine HD product not one of these cheapo Taiwanese pieces that break spokes . Complete with sprocket and disc for only $250

Tank - Sold
Seat - Tired and in need of repair - $50
Pipes - $120
Electrics -$120
Primary inner & outer - $270
Clutch assembly - $100
Rear fender $50
Sissy bar - $30
Shocks - $30
Oil tank- $50

Anything else on the bike is also for sale so just ask .

I have a box of 13" & 13.5" . I think I may have 1 set of 12" . I normally sell good 12" shocks for $120 and as I'm possibly out of them $40 is one hell of a price drop .

So Prof , I'll check those for you when I'm at the warehouse later in the morning .

One only set of 12" . The chrome around the top is peeling but they appear functional . Looks like they were on a Shovel from the studs they have with them . Studs not included .
