Lesson to us... bikes are built to ride and have a ball on... Note that these are 1200cc rigid Harleys not trail bikes! Black & white pics are a bunch of mates riding in the fiftes...

I wouldn't get too cheeky. I've seen guys doing this sort of thing on rigids with out any dramas.

In about 1976 a mate did an impromptu jump on his 750 water bottle at about 60mph. He ended up over six feet in the air!!! He came down ok but broke a few spokes and was pretty shaken as he was only expecting to leave the bitumen by about two feet!

I had a photo (taken over the TOP of a car that was coming the other way) but it only had the back of the bike. Got burnt in a fire unfortunately.

That's when Harley Riders were real men, not the mobile phone talkin', latte sippin', chap wearin' metrosectionals that get around today.

That rider was famous in his day, raced that bike all over the place. Even rode it to the top of Mt St Helens. Those bikes are built to last.

Steady down, Man! Don't lump us ALL in that category just because we ride a Harley. Sure, there are some who fit that category very well. The ones who sell their bike first of all things when money is needed. And they also ride Triumph Rocket 3's, BMW's & Ducati's. But, I think (hope) you may just be stirrin'?
