Members & Friends' Choppers #1...
NZ Yammie... Chris from NZ sent photos and information on his 1100 Yamaha made from scratch over a 2 year period. He built the frame and softail himself. He made sbase and tail light housing with fibre glass. Front end is an amalgum of four different bikes! She apparently goes like stink and handles beautifully. See full details in Jan newsletter.

Mals 750/4
Mal's 750/4... Mal's 750/4 is a great example of a popular 70's South Australian chop job... longer forks, head light, bars, lowering blocks some moulding and a paint job, some chome and after market exhausts...

Shanes Shovel
Shane's Shovel...Shane built this shovel from various parts, made a lot himself, raked the neck, and did the moulding. The fish tails (which you can't see!) produce a beautifully unique sound to cruise by. He's recently sold it and bought onother Shovel, this time with rear suspension (to keep his lady happy). Looking forward to what he'll do to with that..

Tam's S&S Shovel
Tam's S&S Shovel... Tam brought his S&S Shovel with him from Canada. S&S motor is in a custom frame. There's a 21" wheel out front, custom pipes (sound great), comfy sissy bar and seats, forward controls and apehangers. It will soon be in a raked soft tail frame with extended forks. Unique paint hey....

Victorian CB750
Victorian CB750... This bike came all the way from Victoria to be at our Chopper Muster. Still as it was when built in the 70s. How do you like the custom Australian Springer, Cyclegear frame and diamond tank and very narrow bars? Small black cylinder on springer is a steering damper adapted by Merve to dampen bouncing effect and it works very wel. I had a ride and it is very light and easy to ride.

Bazza's triumph chop...
Bazza's triumph chop... This is Bazza this morning on his trumpy checking out newly built custom forward controls.

Frame originally housed a CB750/4. New mountings had to be made for Triumph motor. Lining up motor and Harely rear wheel and spacermaking etc was quite a task.
It should take a few more weeks to complete fabrication of rear mudguard, tail light, seat, wiring, steering head regusseting, checking rocker moutings on springers and a host of other little jobs. We'll get motor hooked up and running and then it will be down again for moulding and paint.
See "Your chopper project..." forum for ongoing photos and comments on the final work being done...

Cromag's F2 750...

She's a 78 F2 Honda 750. Santee swingarm frame, 6"overs (I think), I used a stock headlightmount and headlight because I like to see the kangaroos before you hit em, but I dont like to see headlight mounts. The seat is a rubber flap, as its comfy enough and I havent found a style of seat that suits it yet (ill roll a sheepskin there for lonmg trips), I made the forwards and they are perfect fit.
Currently unrego'd but hoping to solve that problem as Ive sold my other bikes (except the projects) to use this as my daily.

Guy's Pan
Guy's Pan... Guy sent this picture of his pan in the making yesterday...

Check out his website which he's run for 6 years... http://www.greasykulture.com
Guy's trying to find out what kind of annual inspection happens with a bike like his in NSW. Any one know or know where he can inquire...

Cromag's headlight
Bright small headlight... A small but very bright headlight can be achieved using stock small Harley light. Replace reflector with a reflector from Sprint car parts and a high power globe.

Spud's 650 Kawasaki... Spud's just sent in this photo of his ride... Its a 750 Kawasaki twin. A nice clean bike with classy mufflers. Where did they come from Spud? Also, does anyone recognise the brand of frame?

Rob's old school pan
Rob's old school pan... Rob's ridden this Panhead all over Australia with his mates (also on old school choppers). Springer is 10" over. He reckons they have no trouble with the fuzz over their long front ends, but get some flak about their drag pipes etc. Says the boys in blue don't know too much about choppers which works in their favour...
He read about Choppers Australia in "Cruisin" magazine...
Thanks for your picture Rob. Home built chops are my favorites!
