Hi Keith , yes I did the seat myself. When I was making it the flame didnt look to big , but when I put it on the bike it seems to hit you in the face. Its silver same as the flames on the rest of the bike .

You did a great job!!
From here it looks like a very expensive store bought seat.
Well Done!
If you really don't like it, I would put it on E-Bay, Someone will snap that up.....

I've redone the centre panel of my seat , I found it to slippery & every time I hit a bump I slid back.
I took the crock skin out & used it to make a bib for up the tank & then got some gripper vinyl that we use on trail bike seats & put that in.
After some long rides I'm quiet happy with it , grips the jeans a bit to much but is just right on the leathers.

Xsive worked his magic on my frame with some welding & reinforcing.




Also been doing some more polishing , made a start on the back wheel too.

Lowering blocks on the Shaftie was a bit tricky but Xsive worked his magic again.

Finally got the head reco'd & the Stage 3 jets have arrived for the carbies but still need new diaphragms.

Flush mount fuel cap , had trouble finding a suitable one.
Stainless steel deck fitting does the job just fine had to drill a small breather hole in the cap though.

Got some new rims for my bike , off an XV1100 19" & 15"

Bonus their spoke design still lets me run tubeless

Well after a few family issues & other distractions finally some progress on the XJ900 chopper.

Had a bit of a change of direction too.
The gearbox is together , just waiting on a set of rings then assembly is complete.
Carbies have been rebuilt with a stage 3 kit through them.
Frames has been straightened.
Now a quick assemble of the XJ900 frame, 1989XV1000 swingarm installed (longer than the 900)
15" rear wheel & 19"front wheel of an XV1000 Special.
After market triple tree that is wider & has a 6 deg rake.
XV1000 forks with 4" slugs in the top of them.
Comes in just under the 550 rule.
Working on the tank now.
