Tail pipes look quite good with out the wrap... black is a nice contrast to the turnouts and the wrap.

Yeah I got it registered first. I'm lucky, where I live its 50km away from any inspection station for motorcycles. So I didn't have to get a road worthy. Just rock up and they make sure the tyres have tread and the lights work.

Having had both an XV1000 and XV1100 Virgaos I love what you are doing to yours.

Looks Sharp!.........tank change has made a big difference. Funny because i quite like the virago tank, oh well maybe you can start another project around it.
Does not work or play well with others

Tank is done, came up well. It holds liquid without leaks pressure tested at 10-15psi. So I'm happy with that. I've also run a tank sealer through it to stop rust and further durability for years to come.
It utilizes the stock mounts. Making it user friendly. So making the swap to the larger stock tank is easy.

In primer! This high build 2k primer smelt like coconut. Very nice compared to usual.

NEXT! Everything sanded down and the Painting out of the way. Broke out with the airbrush that I'm lucky to use once every 4 years.

I mixed up my own brew of polyurethane satin black and gloss black. This stuff is industrial grade gear. So its super heavy duty stuff, compared to normal 2k satin/matt paints are very "watered" down with matting agents making them very weak. I've painted the whole bike with this stuff. Came up really well!
Quick bolt up to see how it looks.

Carbs sync'd, jetted, idle and air mixture screws dialed in. (video)

Wiring and a few other small things are next then its finito!

Having had 2 Viragos myself many years ago this is one great build mate. I would be very proud to be seen riding that around.

Thanks Ross.. Getting there. Finally!
Slightly better photo than the dirty old Phone camera low quality.

Spent hours wiring and getting rid of the "un-needed" crap.
All the frustrating hours paid off. Everything still worked!

All this used to be in the stock battery box/side covers etc. Now all neatly crammed under the seat between the frame rails so its easy to get to.
