Bike

Post by Prof »

Sorry no posts on this one for a while. Have done a lot more work, with lots of photos, but no time to set them up. Have had a break on the bike for a couple of months but will be doing final fabrication in next few weeks. Bazza has a mate who will be painting it and another person will be doing fancy upholstery.

On the road at last...

Post by Prof »

Took Bazza's T14 0 out for its first spin about 8.30 last night. Started first kick and then needed a bit of tuning. Took it for a run agin t his morning, then pulled out front wheel and modified the brake anchor and welded bottom pivots on springer.

This arvo made a set of T bars (1" down to 7/8" at throttle and left hand grip). Got them done tonight and just came back from a spin up and down Willunga Hill. SA folks know how twisty it is. Long fromt end is very light steering. Springer handles bumps very well... quite comfy in fact. Can ride no hands down to about 30k. Took her up to about 80mph and was very stable.

Just debating on whether to take her for another run down to Aldinga.

Bazza's coming up tomorrow to check out his baby.

Finished machine. I came across it for sale a couple of years back. Bazza said he loved riding it, but time was against him and he wanted it ridden and not sitting around. Professional paint job and gold is actual gold plating.

Looks great! I like that 'batwing' top tree on the springer and how that theme is carried to other parts. Surprised that springer with that rake fit in the 550 rule. Looks like I missed reading some of the build... the front frame rails look wide - is that frame from a inline-4?

Frame was originally for a CB750.

Way past 550 rule but he had regio already.
