Whats your thoughts on the placement of a sealed non maintenance small battery for my XS 650 chopper it will have no electric start and I am thinking about positioning it on top of the swingarm underneath the electric wiring .Speaking about the wiring is there a gauge of wire I should use ,i am probably going to rewire it from scratch cheers Gaz
[The battery will go underneath the checker plate on top of the swing arm is this a viable proposition or will i have problems .Thanks for any thoughts on this

Wire sizes
Wiring sizes...
Wiring sizes illustrated below...
Black...10amp (wire approx .9mm diameter)
Red/yellow... 15amp (wire approx 1.4mm diameter)
Red... 50amp (wire approx 3mm diameter)
Note... diameters are wire only and does not include plastic sheath

I use 10amp and preferably 15amp wire through out bike. "Depends", because I use old car harnesses for their myriad of colour combinations.
15amp is preferable as there is less chance of the wire breaking at joins.
I use 50amp from regulator to battery and 50amp from battery to ignition switch.
