Australia's chopper rider network...

ride my chop cos I dig the   rush

Of the wind on my face

And my motor’s vibes.

I ride my chop cos I love the sound

Of my open slash cuts

And my tires on the road.

I ride my chop cos I forget

The day’s hassles

And clear my brain.

I ride my chop cos it takes me away

To another world

Where I’m king for the day.

I ride my chop cos it means to me

I’m my own man

And I’m wheeling free.

If you don’t understand, that’s cool. You see,

I ride my chop

Cos it’s part of me.

2009 Choppers Australia Mega Run...

In October 2009, Chopper riders from the eastern states of Australia are joining together for a three week run on their choppers to South Australia.  Choppers Australia members from Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria will join together along the route. A WA member is also planning to join in the fun.  This could be Australia's most exciting chopper event ever...

South Australian chopper riders plan to meet them at the border and escort them to Adelaide where a couple of events including a chopper show are being organised.  The riders will then return via a different route.

Most of the bikes being ridden the 5000km trip will be 30+ year old or seventies style rigid choppers and bobbers.  Riders ages vary from mid sixties to mid twenties.

Choppers Australia members are planning to club together to build a chopper for one of our members from the USA to ride, who is planning to come over especially to join in this fantastic experience.

Watch out here for more information as the Choppers Australia Mega Run gets closer...

         Build that chop...

Be it long and lean or low and mean,

High in the head or low instead,

   Rigid, swing arm, plunger heel...

Anything to give that chopper feel.

Stretch and rake just oozes class.

Chrome, alloy, classy paint job, what a blast.

Harley, Italian, Jap or Brit,

When it’s fully chopped it’ll fit.

Planned in the kitchen, built in the shed,

You spin your spanners, while your lady’s abed.

It’s a part of you, not some mega-buck clone.

Your chop is best ‘cos it’s built at home.

A stocker? No way! That ain’t cool...

It’s over real chops that the chickies drool.

So you build your chop though it’s not all fun.

You sweat and swear ‘til you get it done.

Finished! Your baby's a beaut and tracks real sweet

Roar of exhaust, stretched out feet,

Riding your chopper come what may,

Wind in your face; you're King for the day…
