Choppers Australia Forum Rules & Guidelines

Choppers Australia forums are operated as a service to individual chopper enthusiasts; to help them build safe bikes, find parts, share ideas and get to ride together...

By posting on these forums you agree that your responsibility on these forums is to say only what is right, positive and uplifting about every other member of these forums, Choppers Australia members and other motorcyclists. If you have ANY complaint about any other forum or club member you will speak to them in PRIVATE.

The following rules are spelled out in detail to ensure no excuse can be made for not following the positive spirit of these forums...

1. Copyright... No material on Choppers Australia website or forums may be reproduced with out prior written  permission...

2. Choppers Australia Forums  provide access to the public under limited conditions... We reserve the right to revoke your access without warning or notice, for any reason which we may or may not disclose.

3. Choppers Australia Forums are G rated and are for the whole family to view without embarrassment or offence... Offensive, illegal, abusive or deliberately inflammatory messages are not to be posted.  Foul language on the forum will not be tolerated. Adult content of any kind is not to be posted. Ignoring this rule will result in an immediate banning from the forum.  All new forum members profiles are viewed by Choppers Australia forum administrators.  Any memberships that are considered to be primarily for the purpose of spamming will be removed.

4. Responsibility... By becoming a member of Choppers Australia forums, you indicate your agreement that the contents of all messages are the responsibility of the individual message posters and therefore agree not to hold Choppers Australia, the Forum Operators or any other entity associated with the Forums responsible or in any way liable for damages of any kind with respect to the content of ANY message or information presented on the Choppers Australia Forums or Choppers Australia Website... and... to the extent permitted by law you have waived all rights to make any claims against Choppers Australia, the Forum Operators or any other entity associated with the Forums.

5. Posting ethics... THINK BEFORE YOU POST.  Does your post abide by not just these forum rules, but also by the spirit of the rules?   Is your post encouraging? Is it positive?  Do your sentiments make others feel good about themselves? Does it positively promote Choppers Australia?   Does it positively promote other Choppers Australia club and forum members?  Will it give readers a good impression of Choppers Australia and Choppers Australia website and forums. Does it positively promote chopper building and riding? If you can answer YES to these questions go ahead and post. 

As a Choppers Australia Forum member you agree not use the Choppers Australia Forums to post any material which is knowingly false, deliberately misleading and/or defamatory, abusive, hateful, harassing, profane, sexually oriented, threatening or invasive of another person's privacy or anything that violates any law. 

Posting personal information about people such as real names, telephone numbers, street/postal addresses and email addresses is not allowed without permission from that person. 

6. Members Only Forums...  These are for the use of financial members of Choppers Australia.  They provide an opportunity for  all Australian members to have input into the activities and management of Choppers Australia.  Their purpose is to give all members an opportunity to make suggestions on club matters.  It is not a complaints forum or a place to criticise other members (see rule 4).  If you think something should be changed, offer your solution in a positive and constructive manner.  Debate on this forum is fine, but do not allow your posts to display annoyance, or anger.  Do not embarrass or criticise other members on this forum.

7. Complaints... If you have a complaint about a message contained within the Forums your first and only action will be to notify an Administrator by private message, email or phone so that we may review the message and take the appropriate action.  If you disagree with the action of a Choppers Australia forum administrator, your first and only action will be to take your complaint to the founder of Choppers Australia forums.  His decision will be final.

8. Advertising... Choppers Australia forums are private member forums ie they are for private individuals NOT for businesses.  Forum members involved with a chopper related business may post as a private member BUT YOU MAY NOT use these forums to promote your business.   This includes your signature etc

Forum members may  give the name of their business once as a part of their initial  post on "G'day folks..." forum, but not discuss it. 

Choppers Australia website Services Page in conjunction with "About our Business..." forum  are the ONLY places for forum members and the public (WHO HAVE PAID TO ADVERTISE on Services page)  to advertise their business.  "About our business..." forum is the only forum where new goods may be advertised.  Forum members are NOT permitted to put their WEBSITE or a description of what you do on ANY forum except "About our Business..." forum whether as part of a post, part (or all) of their signature or as their location in their profile.  Forum members are not permitted to name or discuss their business or products in posts outside of "About our Business forum. 

Forum members may obtain permission from a forum administrator to show and discuss work they are doing on a chopper in "Your Chopper Project..." forum where the post or thread is aimed at teaching other forum members about chopper building.  However any post that is considered by forum administrators to be promoting their business rather than educating viewers in aspects of chopper building will be removed and the posting member warned.  Further infractions of this rule will result in removal of the post and banning of the posting member.

As a forum member you are reminded that the primary purpose of Choppers Australia forums is to promote homebuilt choppers and provide information, assistance, support and encouragement to the home chopper builder, not to promote your business.

9. For Sale Forum... For Sale forum is only for private sales.  New goods may not be sold on this forum.  Businesses are not permitted to advertise on this forum.

If someone posts a 'for sale' thread, no one should  hijack that thread and offer a similar item at a cheaper price to his potential buyers. They are instead encouraged to start a new thread with their cheaper price and it is up to the reader to keep abreast of new threads. However, other readers are free to discuss/debate pricing within the thread on the condition that they are interested in buying that product and that any claim is substantiated by a link or contact details, so readers and seller can ascertain for themselves that quality and pricing are as claimed. For Sale Forums are for posting items that are genuinely for sale...

No items may be advertised for sale on this forum while they are being offered for sale anywhere else.

If you are wanting to find out what your item is worth place it on the Price Check Forum.   Choppers Australia has no part in price negotiation in the forums, nor are we responsible for ensuring delivery, quality or even existence of goods advertised, bought or sold in the forums.

Note that "spamming" or promoting your business in a manner that we deem unethical will result in the cancellation of your forum account.
Messages should be posted in the appropriate forum.

10. Wanted Forum... If someone posts a Wanted thread they have first priority on any goods offered in response to their post, unless they decline the offer.  If you want a similar item, start your own wanted thread.  Forum members are not at this stage prevented from offering their goods in response to specific requests on condition that goods are NOT advertised as NEW.

11. Price Check Forum... Price Check Forum is to enable members to get advice on the value of their item before they offer it for sale.  Do not attempt to purchase it on this forum or via pm.

12. Forum Accounts... Only one forum account per user is permitted.  If your account is banned, you as a person are banned. Multiple accounts believed to be "false" accounts for another will be banned. 

Other... Posting the same message in multiple forums is not allowed.  Pyramid schemes, affiliate programs or any links containing affiliate identifiers are not to be posted on Choppers Australia forums.  .

If you do not agree to these terms, do not become a Choppers Australia forum member and do not  post on Choppers Australia Forums...
